The 2021 Volkswagen Jetta is offered in five well-equipped trim levels. You can opt for the entry-level S trim, which offers many comforts or step up to the SE which has features usually only found in higher-spec cars in this vehicle class.

You can stand out in the sporty R-Line with its unique exterior accents and interior trim along with model-specific badging. The stylish SEL ramps up the luxury and features, while the top-of-the-range SEL Premium envelops you in sophisticated elegance.

Spacious and Versatile Cabin

Inside, the Jetta’s spacious and contemporary cabin has seating for five adults with ample room for both front and rear passengers to sit in comfort. The roomy trunk is deep and wide and offers 14.1 cubic feet of cargo space to accommodate your luggage, golf clubs, groceries, and whatever else you need to carry. The cargo area can be expanded by folding down the 60/40-split rear seatback.

If you need to install child safety seats, the Jetta features two complete sets of LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) connectors for the rear outboard seats and an additional tether anchor for the middle seat. The lower anchors are simple to find, and attaching the child car-seat straps is easy.

The R-Line has an exclusive sporty interior trim along with push-button start, V-Tex leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. You also get a power tilt and slide panoramic sunroof for a light and airy feel. The SE trim adds a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leatherette steering wheel, and a leather-trimmed gearshift knob.

Going with the SEL gets you even more premium features. It comes with remote start, front sport seats, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. It also offers customizable 10-color ambient lighting that enables you to set the mood in your Jetta.

In the elegant cabin of the SEL Premium trim, you’ll find supple leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and memory settings, ventilated front seats, and memory door mirrors.

State-of-the-Art Technology

Jetta SEL and SEL Premium trims feature the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit with a crisp and clear 10.25-inch digital instrument panel. You can configure the display to show the information you want, from speed and estimated travel time to route guidance, assistance systems, and elevation.

The Jetta’s standard infotainment system features a 6.5-inch color touch screen with intuitive controls and a user-friendly interface. The system includes a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, two USB ports, and a four-speaker audio system. You also get the Volkswagen Car-Net mobile app that you can use for remote start, door locking and unlocking, finding your vehicle, and other functions.

The SEL has an MIB3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen, voice recognition, satellite radio, CD and MP3 compatibility, and a wireless smartphone charging station. You also get a premium audio system with a 400-watt amplifier and nine BeatsAudio speakers for concert-hall-quality sound. The SEL Premium adds a voice-activated navigation system.

Refined Ride and Lively Performance

With the Jetta, you get a comfortable and quiet ride that makes any journey a pleasure for your passengers, while the driver can enjoy the Jetta’s responsive performance. Whether you’re tackling the city streets or negotiating the twisty back roads, the Jetta’s agile handling makes for a scintillating driving experience.

A punchy turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 147 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels. With the S and R-Line trims, you get a slick-shifting six-speed manual transmission for fingertip control, while the other trims feature an eight-speed automatic transmission for seamless gear changes. The available Driving Mode Selection enables you to choose Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom drive modes.

Driver Assistance Features

Standard driver assistance features for the Jetta include a rearview camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a brake pad wear indicator. The SE and higher trims adds forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, which warns you of a potential collision. If you don’t react quickly enough, the system will apply the brakes. It also has blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic warning that alerts you to a vehicle in your blind spot when changing lanes or reversing.

The SEL offers adaptive cruise control which adjusts your speed to maintain a constant distance between your car and the vehicle in front; lane-keeping assist that steers your car back into its lane if you start to drift over the lane marker; and auto high-beam assist which switches your headlights to low beam when an oncoming vehicle is detected, and back to high beam when it’s passed. You also get rain-sensing wipers with heating jets. The SEL Premium adds cornering front lights.
