With all three rows up, you have 12 cubic feet of space in the trunk. With the third row down, that increases to 33 cubic feet. Putting both rear rows down lets you enjoy 65.3 cubic feet of cargo space.

The SEL R-Line and all-wheel-drive trims feature 138.7 cubic feet of interior volume, with 101.1 cubic feet for passengers. The trunk space on this trim is 37.6 cubic feet, or 73.4 cubic feet with the rear seat down.

How Does the Tiguan Compare to Other Compact Third-Row SUVs?

The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan is one of a handful of compact crossover SUVs offering a third row, making it difficult to compare it to other three-row SUVs. Many of these cars fall into the midsize category, meaning that the vehicle is larger overall, so the interior volume and cargo space would also be higher.
